Information stored on your device
Sprout stores the pantry items you add, expiration dates, quantities, estimated values, app preferences, rescue progress, and cached barcode results on your device. This information is not uploaded to a Sprout account or cloud database.
You can erase this information from You → Erase pantry and progress, or by deleting the app.
Barcode lookups
When you scan a barcode, Sprout sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts so it can retrieve available product information such as the product name, category, brand, and artwork.
Sprout does not include your pantry history or Apple Account information in that request. Open Food Facts handles the request under its own privacy practices.
Your controls and deletion
You can erase pantry information from You → Erase pantry and progress, or by deleting the app.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Sprout schedules notifications about food in your pantry. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings at any time.
Purchases
Apple processes Sprout+ subscriptions and free-trial eligibility through StoreKit. Sprout does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Apple may provide subscription status and transaction information needed to unlock paid features and restore purchases.
Tracking and advertising
Sprout does not use third-party advertising trackers, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not sell personal information.
Retention
Local information remains on your device until you erase it or delete the app. Sprout does not operate a separate advertising, analytics, or customer-profile database.
Children
Sprout is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
